Travel Bucket List

Do you know those long lists of places you’d like to go to?

Lists that get longer and longer as the days go by and something new is discovered. Well, I have one of my own too. Today I want to talk about this, of my list, or rather of the three places that are at the top of my list, the ones I would like to visit first of all. Before this summer, four stood out at the top but I managed to remove one in August, Copenhagen in Denmark. But coming to us, the three cities are Paris; Barcelona and New York. Very famous and well-known cities that attract many tourists every year. Sifting here and there on the internet, thanks to Pinterest, I managed to discover the things that no one should miss by visiting them and then today I will share with you my ideal itineraries for when I’ll be able to go there.

  • Paris
Let’s start with France, Paris to be precise. The first thing I would do would be to visit the two main museums: the Orsay and Louvre. For those who don’t know me, I love museums, I’m able to lose myself in the magnificence of what I see. This is to say that they would be my first steps. I would continue with Versailles because basically, you can’t say that you were in Paris if you didn’t see the palace of Versailles with its beautiful gardens.
To stay on the subject of things that you have to visit, we have the Eiffel Tower and the Arc De Triomphe as classic representations of the city. In the end, the symbols can’t be missed. Then a stroll along the Champs Elysées and immerse me in the colours of the windows and the street. How to forget about the Tour Montparnasse from which you can have a nice view of Paris from above. Speaking of buildings we also have the Opera Garnier where the ballet shows are held, something that intrigues me so much.
Continuing to talk about the beautiful buildings we also have the Basilica du Sacré-Coeur in Montmartre that can’t be missed when you decide to visit Paris. And how to forget about Notre Dame de Paris, one of the city’s most famous cathedrals. Only his sight, I believe, deserves the whole trip. Then we continue with a visit to the Latin quarter and to finish and relax a bit we move to the Jardin des Tuileries. Together with museums, parks and gardens are my favourite attractions in a city, so I already imagine myself completely stunned by sight. And here ends what I would like to see in Paris on a future visit.
  • Barcelona
And here we are with it ready to travel with dreams. I imagine starting the tour with the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya, I couldn’t start the trip better. So after recovering from the emotions, I would love to see the Sagrada Familia and after having lost my senses from the emotion and having resumed visit Casa Batlló and Casa Mila.
We have arrived at the moment of the parks and here we have two for my great happiness Parc de la Ciutadella and Parc Güell. It’s time to rest; to eat something; to sunbathe, yes in my dreams there is always the sun when I travel, and we are refreshed a bit ‘by the long walks. Then we start walking again and visit the Arc de Triomf, different from the Parisian one but just as beautiful in its particularity. We continue by taking a look at the Gothic quarter and its peculiarities.
So we find ourselves walking, yes I know we walk a lot but I like it, and we reach the Mercat de la Boqueria. I imagine it full of colors, scents and sounds that overlap with each other to create something unique and unrepeatable, something that changes every time showing different faces of the same place, a place full of magic where everything can happen. The tour ends with a walk along Las Ramblas because at the end you can also discover a city simply walking along its main streets.
  • New York
New York, what more than this. Already the name alone I think provoke emotions in anyone who hasn’t yet been there, after all, there’s something to do for any person whatever their passions. I personally am excited at the idea of the three great museums that I could visit: Metropolitan Museum of Art; American Museum of Natural History; MoMA. And I don’t mention the various, smaller museums that will be there.
And how to forget my second big passion, the parks. What can be nicer than Central Park in the heart of the city available to anyone who wants to immerse themselves in nature without leaving the city. A gigantic green lung ready to welcome you where you can walk, rest and notice the magnificence of nature. Moving on, otherwise, I don’t finish it anymore, to visit absolutely there is also the Empire State Building from which you can have a beautiful view of the city. Not to mention St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Then you want to stay in New York and not see a show on Broadway? Absolutely not. Surely there will be a show that you will like.
Continuing with symbols of the city we have the Brooklyn Bridge and Stonewall where Stonewall’s movements started. It all ends with a ride through the streets of Chinatown.

Writing this post my mind has traveled there in those cities as if it was already there, as if it was really happening. I love doing it, imagine traveling around the world, thinking about what I would do, what I would eat, what would surprise me. To me, it seems to travel more than I really do. And do you have a list of places to go? Do you have any suggestions for things to do or see?

  1. I didn’t massively like Paris, but Barcelona is one of the coolest cities in the world! It’s always great to have a bucket list, and I hope you’ll see all the destinations on yours 🙂

  2. I haven’t been to Barcelona but I love Paris and New York. They are definitely two different kind of cities with different experiences. The city view of NYC is amazing whether from the Top of the Rock or Empire building.

  3. I have been to Paris and Barcelona – great but different vibes… If I ever have to choose again – would vote with my two hand for Barcelona. My 3 destinations are Machu Picchu, Bodgaya and Japan in general 😉
